Help! ASUS PG278pq issue

Any monitor with a supported connector, resolution, and refresh rate will work. I would test the monitor on a different device, test the xbox on a different display, and try the cable with a different device as well.

Somewhat works on a different one, I got the res down to 720p, but on this other monitor, it only allows it to display to 480p and the image is cut in half almost

Does the monitor work properly with a laptop and/or desktop? And have you tried a different HDMI cable? If these don't work, its an issue with the monitor. If they do, somethings up with the Xbox
