Im desperate!

Hello fellow Pc enthusiasts,

today should have been a great day, my new custom loop arrived, together with a new x470 chipset and an ryzen5 2600.

I unplugged my old Amd Fx board and my R9 290 put everything together and voilla: nothing works. Pc boots, no visuals tho. I figured it might be the new RAM, since i heard ryzen 2 needs a bios update to work with most rams. did that, still nothing. I was getting curious and put my R9 back into the old system, again boot without visuals.

I checked the liquid metal, that i applied on the graphics card today, nothing seems to have dropped.

I am at the end of my straight thinking problem solving... please help.

What are all your specs? Will your PSU power on the FX system and send a display to the monitor?

RAM old Kingston ddr3 1333/now G.skill DDR4 3000mhz 16 gbs

Mobo old Asus sabertooth 990fx/new X470 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming Ultra

Graphics Card still Sapphire R9 290 trixxx

Psu Thermaltake 850W Madrid

Monitor Dell U2412M connected via DVI

Ensure that your PSU will power on your original system.

PSU runs everything.

It boots, just the screen stays black, not even bios.

Also vga led turns on continously. sometimes when booting, booting device led also turns on.

new system also boots, same problems.

Im pretty sure its the Gpu... Just took it apart, i cant seem to figure any problems.

Do you have a different GPU? Did your GPU work previously?

nope, turned old system with the same graphics card down, and put it up again. yes fired up some diablo 3 with it this very afternoon.

So the GPU works, just not in this build?

nope not anymore. since i put it in the new build it stopped working on both systems.

alright, i can make sure of that tomorrow. thx for the quick advice, ill keep this updated if anything changes.
