Hi everyone,

I would like to know if it's possible for an organization to block the use of VPNs on their network. I am a high school student and at my school I have noticed that streaming is throttled because when I use a VPN it works and when I don't, the content just keeps loading. But I tried to use a VPN today and it didn't work. And not only one, a hole bunch. Is this IT blocking VPNs or is it something else.

Schools can and usually do block VPNs.

All an IT admin has to do is know what online servers are associated with what VPN then they can throttle or block inbound or outbound connections. Your schools IT dept may have finished the list of servers to block and finally added them to the routers block list.

If you're here to try and ask for a way to circumvent the block we cannot help you.

That looks pretty poor although you might be fighting for airtime with other clients.

It's relatively easy to block default ports and protocols.
