Problem with my controller

When i use a usb cable and hook it up to my controller it dosent work and when i go in to settings it says driver error then when  try to update it its says the best drivers are installed i need this to work because my laptops aux port dosent work and i need sound so please help

Is it the wireless version or the cabled one? (I ask because I know the wireless one you can hook a micro usb into)

I'd suggest uninstalling the existing driver and reinstall. The guide here should go through it :
