I Overclocked my Ryzen 7 1700 to 3.7ghz with stock cooler at a multiplier of 37 and volts at 1.3. So a simple oc. No problems. Motherboard I have is the ROG STRIX X370-F Gaming. I then updated my BIOS from 1001 to 4012 and after applying my OC again. I ran cinebench and I get micro stutters. I repeated cinebench about 5 times - getting 1-2 microstutters each session. So I went into bios - and put it to 1.325 volts - still got stutters. Went back and changed to 1.35 and no problems so far. Though my temps have gotten to around 80-81c, used to get to around 75-76c max. Any particular reason I can no longer run at 3.7, 1.3v on 4012? I did notice my volts before when it was 1.3v went to around 1.34323 or so - someone on here said it was LLC kicking in. It no longer shows that in ryzen master when it used to - it just goes to the volt I set it to, though cpu-z shows it going to 1.352v - 1.357v. Anybody got any idea why it's not stable anymore at 3.7-1.3v?

Probably time to stop using Ryzen Master and instead use the BIOS.

What is the LLC settings? I suspect you used the most aggressive setting in the past (increasing from 1.3 to 1.34 is a LOT), which you shouldnt because sudden spikes could degrade CPUs over time (especially since software readings can be off by a whole 0.1V under high vloltage, though this mobo should be better here).

 

Use medium level of LLC, say it's level 1 to level 9, use level 5

It seems it was on by default - I haven't touched anything like that. Also can't find it in my mobo settings - probably me being blind. Tried googling where to find it in my bios but can't find anything that helps.

Loadline Calibration should be either in the voltage settings or somewhere under the CPU multiplier.

Just had a look in my bios - can't see anything there..took two screenshots. Sorry if they're blurry - my phone sucks at pictures.

under the 'advanced' menu maybe? I dont know Asus has BIOS as weird as this one

More screenshots - only took a picture of what I think could be it? Checked the others and it was just network - usb and sata drives etc.

Both CPU LLC and SOC LLC should be level 3. Could use level 2 if voltage drops under load, but not level 1.

I've set them both level 3. Did 3 stress tests with cinebench. Default volts is set to 1.3v - CPU-z is showing 1.308 idle. Under load before volts went to 1.27 or so. Now it goes to 1.330v

I'll take it. No more stutters on 1.3v and it goes up when needed. It'll do. Avg around 78c. Glad that's over. Now I'm going to bed xD Thanks for the help. Next mission will be to uninstall AISuite3...useless thing doesn't even work. It's one thing or the other..
