Motherboard, CPU compatibility.

Go to solution Solved by Crunchy Dragon,

For an 8th Gen CPU, you need an Intel 300-series motherboard.

The Aorus board you linked will work perfectly, and seems to be pretty good from what I've found.

Hi all, just finalising some parts of my first build. I have read concerns about motherboard compatibility with 8th gen intel CPUs. something to do with bios numbers(?) I'm pretty new to this and tbh i dont even know what i dont know. Looking to have my mind put at ease before I make a purchase.

I am planning on going for these parts;

i'l also be going for a 1070, 16 gig with 650 power supply. whole thing air cooled with a be quite fan. just in case any of that is relevant :)

Any help or advice would be great :) would never have got this for is it wasn't for these forums. keep up the good work folks! its appreciated.
