Hi Guys,

I am looking at building my first PC I am based in the UK I have a a Budget of £860 with a buffer of an extra £200.

Aims

My aim is to build a PC that I can:

1.) Work on spreadsheets, multiple, browser tabs & windows, many word and power point windows.

2.) Game on, I would like to Game at 4K and in VR in the future as I am aware that my current budget wouldn't allow me to do that. The kinds of games would be Fall out, League of legends, Far cry 2 ect.

3.) Run a Plex Sever, future once again.

Monitors

I currently have two 19 inch monitors I plan to upgrade them to three 24-inch 4K monitors or 1 ultrawide but this would be in 6 months’ time when I have the funds and done more research in what will suit my needs the best.

Peripherals

I will need windows I would prefer windows 7 but if not possible windows 10 will do. I have all other peripherals covered.

Why are you upgrading?

I am upgrading because my current workstation is 8 years old and seriously slow to boot and load windows and very poor and gaming.

·         Intel Core i3-2100 @3.1GHz

·         3 GB of RAM (unsure if DDR2 or 3)

·         Integrated graphics

·         500GB mechanical hard drive.

As an idea of what I am currently running.

Some requirements

·         I would like to run and Core i7-8700K or equivalent (no preference on Intel or AMD)

·         A case that can hold at least five 3,5-inch drives (one for games, one for plex, one for work, 2 for back up)

·         Space for a Blu ray/CD/DVD drive

·         A case that is easy for a novice to build in and cable manage

·         A Motherboard that will allow overclocking as I would like to try in the future.

·         An SSD/M.2 for a boot drive.

Extra info

·         I am not fussed on RGB (a horror I know)

·         I am not fussed on looks or colour schemes

·         I will NOT be buying the GPU now but will be soon. (I assume the motherboard/CPU will have integrated graphics.) please correct me if I am wrong, I plan on buying a 1080 or 1080ti.

Many thanks in advance for any help or support offered. I may have said something stupid or incorrect so please correct me.

If this needs any editing or more information I will edit ASAP.

Use just one ultrawide at 1440P, much better than using 3 monitors, and gets rid of excess power and HDMI cables.

Here you go.

This will do great in games. If you have some money to spare, I highly recommend a 1070ti. If not, then this will do you well.
