So, i have 2 seagate baracuda 1tb drive i tried to put in my pc, via sata and pc will not display them. I put them into a external HDD enclosure, a make your own thingy that does work, and nothing. I plug my real external drive in, and it works. Both of these are baracuda 1tb 7,200rpm drives and neither will work.

Both were in my i5 4th gen pc and worked their.

When you plug them in and they spin up, have you gone to device manager, right clicked on any device and chosen "Scan for hardware changes" yet? Asking because Windows doesn't always auto detect drives plugged in via SATA, even with a reboot, so it's worth a shot. Otherwise you can always boot into a live Linux distro to check if the drives show up at all period on your new build.

Does them show in Windows Disk Management? if yes, you can post a screenshot.

i tried that too, but no.
the whole reason i dont have a optical drive in this, is neither of em would read, but both worked on last gigabyte board. i do have a m.2 drive in, 2 rx470's...maybe i cannot have anymore sata slots po[ulated? but why does this not work via usb lol

(and my computer barely ever posts on attempt 1 either more little problems with this thing...next time im going with a new mobo, asus maybe)
