So I'm trying to help out my cousins and grandparents by building them new pcs.

Their existing rigs have AMD 635 and E3300 Celeron, so not great.

They mainly browse the internet with the general usage of programs like word, etc.

I want to give them the fastest builds possible at the lowest cost (considering GPUs aren't needed), with a maximum being around £375-£400 ($500) each

Current build looks like this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/LFcDjy

8gb Ram

240gb SSD

1TB HDD (for backups, some media storage)

Ryzen 3 2200G

A320M-HDV Mobo

Core 1100 Fractal Case

I'm not sure if the processor is the best for the job, as no gaming. I was looking at the i3-8100, although that does come at a £25 premium.

Recommendations are welcome

- Thanks

My one suggestion is to get a 2x4GB kit of memory, for the dual-channel capabilities.

I also highly recommend you get alternative modules such as the Corsair Vengeance, you can get a 2x4GB kit of DDR4-2666 memory for around the same price of the Crucial RAM you have listed there.

I wouldn't worry to much about 2x4GB vs 8GB single stick, sometimes 2x4 is cheaper though.

Power supply is just O.K., granted you wont be pulling much power from it with a basic system, I personally would go for a more reliable unit myself.

Thanks for the idea. I am debating the single vs dual channel and leaning towards dual (although I forgot to update the list as they're both listed similarly). Is it worth spending ~£15+ for 2666 over 2400Mhz? I can't imagine there will be much difference, would there?

I wish that ram was £59.30, Unfortunately, if you follow the link it comes out to £96.72

Oh, do Seasonic have a better reputation in comparison with Corsairs bronze PSUs?

In my experience no, you can go 2400MHz since performance is minimal. I use Intel though, I'm not sure how Ryzen handles faster memory.

the ECO is an ancient unit with missing protections, get a 400w pure power 10 or CX450M instead.
