Intel HAXM not available

I fixed the problem by upgrading to Pro edition. Now it works flawlessly!

I have set my Android studio up, set a basic hello world app. Downloaded and installed Marshmallow 6.0 SDK. Everything worked fine until the time came to run the emulator. This is what the problem is: 

Emulator: emulator: ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!

Yes, Intel HAXM was downloaded and installed. Even hyperV is turned off but still gives the error.

 

Quick google search revealed that "you need to turn it on from BIOS". Sigh, booted to BIOS and I dont see any HAXM option.

 

Machine: Acer E5 575G

 

This is driving me nuts. I hope I didnt waste money on this machine

I think it is called Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x). look for that.

There still are CPUs that don't come with that stuff...

Checked i5 7200u on intel website. Yes, it does supports it

Please do bear in mind that I have not updated BIOS since I bought it. Current BIOS version is 1.15 while the latest one is 1.32

 

I do not know if they have introduced the option in latest bios update. And I can not just update it just to 'check' since there is risk involved in updating BIOS and I do not want myself banging my head on therefore presumably dead laptop.
