Help setting up a network drive.

I am trying to set up a plex server from another computer on my network. It has Windows 10 Home with all the latest updates, so no more homegroup. I want to be able to access the media drive from my main computer so i don't have to constantly take files over to it. 

 

I am having a hard time getting my main computer to recognize the drive. I have enabled sharing on the media drive inside the computer, but no matter what i do, i cannot get it to show up anywhere on my main machine. My main machine has the same version of Windows 10 with all updates. It sees the plex server just fine, just not the drive itself.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get this to work? I know Windows can access an internal drive from another machine, it just has to be configured correctly. Any help will be appreciated.

try entering \\computer into the file explorer (replace "computer" with the name of the computer with the plex server)

\\computername or ip\

 

this should ask you to logon or give credentials, after putting them in you should see if a network share is accessable.
