Hi, today while troubleshooting my sibling's computer & switching it to force the computer to use the igpu (intel hd 4600), I realize that the picture is graphically glitchy and all that stuff. I also see that I CANNOT play any games & they will either give me a direct x failure, crash, or tell me that my gpu drivers are outdated.

I already tried using ddu to uninstall the drivers and reinstall the latest ones from Intel driver & support assistant but no luck

Here is an example of what the glitches look like: https://imgur.com/a/ho5FAod

the image just shows steam login?

you might know this, but you can manually turn on/off the integrated graphics from the bios

But for testing purposes, I need it on...The dedicated gpu is kind of malfunctioning as of right now

i had similar issues with my intel integrated, the load would spike to 100% and the system would become unresponsive, i chatted with intel support theyre the most helpful,
they ended up replacing the cpu for me all together

also, recent windows update (from feb and april) have been causing issues with older mobo firmware, trying updating bios and chipset if you havent tried that

Not the issue I have been experiencing but i will contact them

Going to check if my cpu recommends a bios update with my motherboard

according to pcpartpicker (not sure if entirely reliable) "

  • Some Intel H81 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Of course this is according to the system I am trying to troubleshoot

Looks fine to me, so it must be the cable.

Tried a different cable, no luck

Oddly enough when i try to connect the cable to my motherboard's video, i get a "cable not connected error"

The screenshot looked normal, so the iGPU is fine. It's either the cable, the connector or the monitor.

Yeah weird, looking at the screenshot from my other computer, it looks all normal but looks all staticy from the one i am trying to troubleshoot

BTW I already tried with another monitor of mine and same thing still happens

Oddly enough when i try to connect the cable to my motherboard's video, i get a "cable not connected error but when i connect it back to my dedicated gpu, the computer instantly uses the igpu weird?
