Thinking of Switching to Ryzen

I recently made a post about upgrading and got a couple of comments saying to wait for the new Intel 9 series. Me being me I can be an impatient person when it comes to certain things. Like Kingdom Hearts 3 for example getting a release date finally a few hours before I posted this. I can be impatient on the things I can currently get/want. My original post was thinking about upgrading to a 8700k from my current 6600k for the better streaming and gaming performance at the same time. I came across some videos seeing that obviously AMD will take the cake of encoding and still maintain a better fps than the 8700k on some games and not having a big margin of performance difference like older AMD CPUs. A friend of mine is suggesting to get the Ryzen 7 2700x which isn't a bad choice, but also something I told myself I wouldn't do and that was go back to AMD after dealing with the 8350 FX chip and getting little to no performance upgrade compared to my first PC build. This is why I am so hesitant on this idea that he suggested. The videos I've seen are what make this a bit harder which I will link for anyone who is curious on what we watched. I am believing as of my current build I am bottlenecking myself with the 6600k more than I am with the 980 Ti

Video 1 Benchmarks start at 4 Mins (Left 2 graphs are Higher is better and 2 Right are lower is better scenario)

Video 2 I took into consideration that the person is using a Gtx 1080 which will show a better performance than what I am getting now and took these numbers with a grain of salt in mind

Video 3 This is just an extra that my friend came across which made me think more about switching back to AMD.

Video 4 Just to show in my world scenario with a 980 Ti though not with my current CPU but the possibilities of what it would look with the 2700x

Of course there are more videos but these ones stick out the most to me in difference in performance with what I currently have and what I'm currently thinking of upgrading to.

My Current Build I would have to upgrade the memory as well so I am willing to dish out the extra money to try and shoot for 3200 or 3400 memory if needed.

Any help will be surely appreciated and thank you so much in advance. :)

What's your upgrade budget?

Don't forget, 8700K will need a new mobo as well :)

My most recent budget was about $600 and I took into consideration about the 8700k needing the new mobo as well and same goes for if I switch to AMD, but after looking at prices for the 3200 DDR4 ram I was considering of increasing it to $700-$800 max

that AMD hate because some day in the past you bought a 8350 makes no sense. Things change.

$600 is enough for a 2700, X370/470 board and 16gb of 3000mhz ram. i'd get the 2700 since you're doing streaming, the 2700 does better in streaming while performing slightly behind in games.

Are you meaning if I overclock it to match the 2700x for streaming and gaming? I am fairly new to the overclocking business but my friend who is helping me helped me overclock my 6600k so I learning still I am getting it down a fair bit.

Ah ok. I'm sorry. I was thinking you were comparing it to both the 2700x and 8700k.

Thank you Herman and Lurick for your suggestions. I will take my time to think them over. :)
