Tentative PC upgrade, looking for advice

Hi!

So after a few years I've decided to upgrade my build and would like some advice as I've not built a computer for about 5 years or so.

My current build:

GPU:  GTX 780 ti Ghz Edition, underclocked because it caused constant crashes

CPU:  Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3,40Ghz

Motherboard:  Gigabyte Z77X-D3H

RAM:  8GB Kingston DDR3

PSU:  Corsair TX650M

What I quickly put together as an upgrade:

GPU:  MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Armor 8G

CPU:  Intel® Core i5-8600K, 3,6 GHZ (4,3 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1151

Motherboard:  MSI Z370-A PRO, socket 1151

RAM:  Crucial 8 GB DDR4-2400

Turns out its more of a new build then an upgrade.

I'll be reusing my old case and PSU as I don't feel that they are due to be replaced, as well as my HDD's and SSD's (they're not as old, 1-2 years old tops).

As CPU cooler I intended to use a standard intel boxed cooler as I'm not so much into overclocking or such that my temperatures matter a lot.

I think it would be a pretty decent upgrade but I'm unsure if I should dish out another few hundred euros for a 1080 instead of a 1070.

I'm wondering if I should I change anything, or if resuing older parts is a bad idea.

Thanks in advance!

edit: Fixed the amount of RAM I intended to get.

edit 2: Found type of PSU

1. reusing the PSU is a bad idea, because Corsair 600w units are not good, especially for using a long time.

2. 8600k does not come with a cooler, you need to buy your own one regardless of whether you want to overclock

3. 4GB of RAM is horrible by today's standards (and has been for years)

My choice will be the i5-8400 on a box cooler, B360 mobo (H310 is only a tiny bit cheaper) and 8GB of RAM, preferably a single stick of upgrade to 16GB dual channel is easier.

Will you be using only 4gbs of ram? Thats is not even enough to game for example, cs go and fortnite won't even launch and the even more demanding games will be impossible to run. I'd recommend 16 Gbs of ram @ 3000mhz or 3200 mhz.

Ah, sorry, I just copied my shopping cart, I meant to buy 8GB, so twice that.

I'll look into another PSU then. Any recommendations as to what wattage/brand?

Are the higher hz worth the money? Its been a bit of a shocker to see 16GB of ram going for €160 these days, so thats why I opted for the lower speeds.

There's this list,

tier 3 or above ones are good, tier 4 for stuff you dont care, below 4 are bad

450w units are more than enough, though 550w units allow using more power hungry parts. No need to go higher.
