This is a discussion from my old thread:

I bought a new SATA cable this time and now I still get the same error, altough this time when i boot it up it doesn't take that much time. I haven't tried any of the answers from the previous forum (mainly because i didnt have time to do theese things.)

Maybe my problem is that I have too many SATA cables connected on my Motherboard? I have my CD driver (yes,a CD driver) and my 240gb SSD.

Likely a faulty drive. If it's still in warranty, RMA it.

Well as pretty much everyone in that thread has pointed out, something is probably wrong with the drive. You've checked with a new cable, so it's not the old cable. Only options left are bad motherboard (did you check other SATA ports?) or just a dead/damaged drive. Did you check it on another PC like people suggested?

Anyway, since you said it's a brand new drive, just RMA it. I think it's dead or damaged, it happens, even with brand new devices.

Unfortunately I've been through the same problem, new HD with error, I suggest that you use the Segate tool to check if the problem is in the HD and if it is positive for the HD, replace the HDD direct from Seagate, your warranty goes to 2020.

Just to complement the above information, this warranty is valid for the HDD with serial number Z9ANTM7H and product number  2EP102-300 . Check your serial number and product number .

I downloaded the SeaTools,I did a smart test on my HDD and it passed, but then I tried to do a long test and it gave me an error.

I checked on the other SATAG ports and all of them gave me the same I/O error. I never got the chance to format my HDD into another PC.

Probably board error, contact Seagate to replace the HDD ! What error code displayed by Seatools ?

My error is E270CEC4. One question about RMA:is it possible for them to just give it to them, fix it then return it? Or give me the same HDD that works normally? I'm also from Romania,so who knows how long will it take for them to return it.

Sending to make the exchange for the warranty, you will receive a new HDD of the same model and capacity, I can speak for the experience I had when making the exchange, the expenses are for Seagate and the return of the new HDD was fast, I'm from Brazil !  Probably the exchange is made by an agent or seagate representative in your Country .
