It'll be mostly ok, depends a little on the speed of the RAM. You could run into memory issues though, 8GB system + 3GB VRAM is on the low side, be mindful of texture settings to prevent problems.

It shouldn't bottleneck it. I have an i7 6700 and a GTX 970 which performs similaky tonyour system and the GPU isn't really a bottleneck.

Alright so I have a i7 - 2600 and 8gb of DDR3 Ram. I don't have a graphics card but I am looking to game. I am looking to purchase a GTX 1060 3gb. My question is will this build be good enough for modern gaming and if it will bottleneck. Thank you for your time :D

There shouldn't be a bottleneck.

However, if it fits your budget, I would go for the 1060 6 GB instead. This card can be seen as kind of a 1060 Ti having not only more VRAM but also more power (CUDA cores 1280 vs. 1152) compared to the 3 GB version.

About your CPU: Intel made about 5 to 10 % improvement generation by generation depending on the workload. The Sandy Bridge CPUs were a HUGE bump over what came before them, but not a whole ton has happened in overall performance since then. Most improvements have been centered around efficiency and power consumption.

So @Shqdows, as a conclusion: your CPU won't bottleneck a current generation GTX 1060 3 GB. And, if you have the budget, get yourself the 6 GB version. It will definitely be worth it.

Yes your GPU will bottleneck most of the time and that is what you actually want instead of CPU bottleneck which will introduce stutters.
