It wouldn't be very hard. All you would have to do is cut and solder on new LEDs onto the existing leads, assuming you find ones that are 3mm in diameter so they fit in the block. As long as you don't mix up the terminals, it should work. As for sourcing, you can get them from most electronics hobby stores; Ebay is another viable source if you don't mind waiting for shipping.
