Problem with PS CC 2018

Heyo,

 

I use photoshop almost on a daily basis for work but today, i suddenly have this problem that it doesn't "close" an image properly. I edit 100+ images every work day and need to move them to various folders ASAP but at random times it prompts an error that the file is "open" somewhere else and when I check resource monitor it shows that photoshop.exe is using the image despite it being closed. This just started happening today and I can't figure out what's wrong.
