Two Different Graphics Cards

I was just wondering whether it is possible to have two different graphics cards. I currently have a GTX 1070 TI, which I use for gaming. I was just wondering whether I can get a cheaper graphics cards to run some additional displays, to decrease the load on my GTX 1070 TI.

Using extra monitors on one graphics card uses close to no resources. But if you insist on getting a new "old" graphics card, a 750ti or GT1030 will do the trick. I recommend the 750ti as it still has some gaming potential still in it.

Wait a second... do you want to run those graphics cards in SLI?

Because that is not possible with two different graphics cards.

No, I just want two different graphics card one mainly for gaming and the other mainly for having two other monitors attached.

Ah OK, then there shouldn't be a problem at all.

The GTX 750 ti is the better performing card, but GTX 1030 only uses 30 W compared to the 750 Ti's 60W.

The 1030 also supports newer technology in rendering techniqes and will have driver support & game optimisation longer than the now aging 750 Ti.
