Not sure where to put this so please move if required.

I'm starting to plan out my game room once I finish my basement, it will be for LAN, tabletop, board games, modeling (gunpla warhammer etc) VR and maybe even console.  I started looking at simulator cockpits, namely this one and realized that my ambitions are quickly outpacing my available space.  I will have a bedroom upstairs that doesn't have plans once the remodel is done but don't want to dedicate an entire PC to a separate room due to LAN concerns (IE one less machine for group gaming).

So my question, is there a way to set up a computer with all peripherals in one room and run a second set to another room?  I would like to make the room a simulator room as well as open VR space.

As I was writing this I had the idea of using my laptop on a docking station, it's a 7700hq + gtx1060 which is supposedly VR capable........ Then I could undock and bring it downstairs.

If I don't use the laptop the other two potential machines would be my main rig 7600k + gtx1070 and my older desktop 5820k + RX570.  To start, the game cockpit will have a 55" 1080p TV since I already have it with the chance of triple 1080 monitor's down the road.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Optical Thunderbolt 3 cables.

Thanks, I remember seeing that but had no use for it at the time.  Couldn't remember what it was. (watching now)

Can anyone link the hardware required? I can't find it

Also the cable alone is $300...... at which point I'm thinking it would be smarter to build another machine or upgrade my gpu and do a handme down on gpu's for an extra rig.

Is there any reason this couldn't be done on 10gig ethernet? Maybe with an old laptop for IO?  I want to know more about this subject in general because I will have my server and networking equipment under the stairs and the house will be wired with cat6.

It all depends on distance. You could probably do it over ethernet, and it depends exactly what you want it to do in the location you're running cable to.
