Hello,
About two weeks i started getting random BSOD's containing the following message:
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
nvlddmkm.sys

I tried deleting and then reinstalling the nvidia graphics drivers but it didin't help.

My pc specifications:
AMD Ryzen™ 7 1700 / 6M Cache /3.0Ghz to 3.7Ghz
ASUS PRIME A320M-K (AMD A320 / AM4 / DDR4 / USB3.1 / M.2)
Vengeance® LPX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz
(PSU) Xilence XN053 600W
(GB) 1TB 7200 RPM + 120GB SSD (~550MB/s)
NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 192-bit
Windows 10

Whocrashed crash scan results:
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (0xFFFFF804EF0C48AD)
Bugcheck code: 0x7E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF804EF0C48AD, 0xFFFF84829DD40F78, 0xFFFF84829DD407C0)
Error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
file path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_f32bf428bbff8aa5\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 397.93
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 397.93
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a system thread generated an exception that the error handler did not catch.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 397.93 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: nvlddmkm.sys NVIDIA Corporation SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

All help is appreciated

Do you know if any Windows Updates (or if your nvidia driver) were updated around the same time you noticed these issues cropping up?

JayzTwoCents recently posted a video explaining that the recent Windows Updates that help mitigate some of the newer Spectre vulnerabilities can cause problems on machines with outdated bios revisions - it may be a good idea to update your bios if it isn't already at it's latest version.

Alternatively, you could try an older driver in case there's some edge case with your card and the most recent one.

Note: I'm assuming here that you've ruled out instability from overclocking, temperatures, etc - IT's coming up to the summer months in the northern hemisphere, so it's easy to overlook temperatures increasing etc - but since your machine is a Ryzen build I can't imagine it having enough dust etc to make this an issue. Still, thought I'd mention it.

I'm glad to hear that mate, and I hope the problem is really gone. Bios update would never have occurred to me if I hadn't seen that video. :)
