More efficient and faster, Pulse is not only one of the better designs of the 580, but it's also the RX 580 over RX 480. You can also get the Nitro.

580 -> new, slightly better, has warranty( I don't call 2 month warranty as a warranty in a situations when you can easily afford a new and slightly better model), supposedly it should work if you wont get a factory escaped defect which could burn down after warranty (like I had with Gigabyte GTX680, the wattage controller (I think) burned down, literally in flames, and now I use benchtest card that they gave me because there weren't any Gigabyte gtx680 model left at similar used time, some MSI thing which I am not fond of. Card burned month or week before warranty expired, thank god that if it burned down it was right when I had warranty, which was 2 or maybe 3 years after I bought it, I think it was 2. But of course would prefer without having burned it down at all, and not sure if it was actually factory defect, since I had some problems with PSU around 3-5 months before that, it was dead, but I somehow revived it..."fixed" it, since it had loosened soldering of some wires, which might have caused the card later on to burn down, after which I simply bought a new PSU which still runs to this day), or any other kind of defect occurring after warranty ends.

I would simply recommend a new one either way, it's just cheap +45$ for a new one, since you have no idea what stuff the used one has gone through, it might even die on you after warranty goes out, you have no idea how trusty the seller is, and whether or not everything actually works, whether it has no issues over some sort of stress point and so on. Personally I have trust issues to these used part pages where you have no idea if someone is trustworthy or not. Trust me, when it's just as little as +50 for a new one, and even a next model, it's always better and safer to take that one.

Here is another thing...if you understand benchmarks or you just like seeing higher numbers anyway as to what one card is being compared to the other.

Depends how used it is, what comes with it, and how well has the card been taken care of for these years of usage a.k.a. condition. If everything is good, has mostly stuff that comes with it originally, or at least necessary stuff that you need to successfully run the card such as right cables for your monitor, then yea, 170 sounds a good price for it.
