It might, but it doesn't seem like a worthwhile solution. SD and Micro SD are currently matched in their largest (commercially available, SanDisk's 1TB SD card doesn't seem available) capacities, and they cost the same as their SD equivalents (around $200 USD for a 400GB card, $350 for PNY's new 512GB card).
