It really surprises me that you can find so many online classes related to ICT on the internet. That’s completely not the case with my studies though. So you simply follow those classes and how about the exam? How is that supposed to work? Where?/How?

Not interested, just curious :-D

I would imagine it would vary by class.

Hello I was wonder if anyone has taken online classes for comptia on the website www.onlc.com? If so how are they ?

So I cannot speak to the validity of this company, but you can get a few clues -

First, the domain information, if correct (as someone posted), shows the website has been around since 1995. Scams don't last that long.

Second, they seem to have physical locations. I have done online classes and on-premise classes throughout my career (typically paid for by my employer). If you can visit one of their locations, you should be fine.

Third, the prices are not absurd, or overpriced. They aren't cheap, but they are pretty normal.

I am surprised they are listing prices online, which is suspicious - many of these schools will not outright list prices online due to competitors undercutting them.

The prices they list are all sort of normal and they are based on the number of days in class (in my experience). I recently did my CASP training with a place and it was in the $4,000 range, but was over 8 days.

Anyway, if you don't want to take a chance, I can vouch for the following place as I have used them myself and they are located all over (many of these training places are really just franchises) www.newhorizons.com

As far as the place I listed goes, after your training, the courses are available for you to review for 6 months afterwards. There are ways to save them, but it is time consuming for your computer (OBS screen capture).

I know there are a variety of programs that are usually offered to pay for the training. I remember a price of $15,000 - would go through all the training for all the certificates (Microsoft) over the course of a year and included the first test attempts.

The Professor Messer videos are pretty good for A+ and Network+.  If you've been around computers for a couple years and are familiar with building one then you could pick up the A+ with minimal effort.

I wouldn't suggest dropping much on study material, the certification itself isn't particularly valuable unless you have absolutely nothing technically related on your resume.

Sincerely I recommend Udacity. I feel like it's the best platform for learning as you are supported by videos. You can also get nanodegrees there and the lessons are made in collaboration with certain companies that may be interested in actually recruiting people with those kind of skills. Some of the companies that have a collaboration with different courses are Google, Facebook, IBM, SAP, Mercedes Benz, Amazon and BOSCH even Nvidia and tons of others. I did got once into a nanodegree for free for android developing but I stopped and forgot about it. Nanodegree's do cost money so that is a point that you might want to know but they also have free courses. You have nanodegrees for AI Programming with Python, Compute Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Analyst, Deep Learning, Self-Driving Car Engineer, Artificial Intelligence, Design Sprint Foundations, Front-End Web Developer, Flying car, Learn Unreal VR, Google AdWords, Intro to Self-Driving Cards, Data foundations, React, Intro to programming and lots of others. Its amazing and I like Udacity. Hope you will like it too.
