Overclocking noob

I'm trying to overclock my fx 8300 but I can't seem to get it stable past 4.0 ghz. I'm pretty new to this and I've tried following some guides but can't seem to get it right. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

I have an Fx8300 in a Asus 970 pro gaming/aura

Corsair H100v2

8 gigs (2x4gb) gskill 1600

Msi 750 ti

Evga superNOVA 850 g2

That probably means you have an unlucky CPU. Some CPUs of the same model can overclock better than others, mainly due to the manufacturing process of a CPU.

what voltage are you using to hit your highest stable oc and what is it

Cpu manual voltage 1.3v

Cpu/nb manual voltage 1.25v

Cpu/nb frequency 2460mhz

Ht link speed 2460mhz

Memory frequency ddr3-1640mhz (timing is on auto because it crashed when I tried to set it at its spec of 9-9-9-24)

Cpu ratio 20.0

Cpu bus frequency 205 (so cpu is at 4.1 currently) 

 

I know this is more than you asked for but these are the things I changed.
