Yeah sounds like the PSU. Or the computer may be trying to protect itself from a short or something. You could plug the 24 pin, CPU power and drive power from your PSU into his hardware without actually uninstalling it from your own case, just for the sake of testing.

Did it just suddenly power off? Was there are power surge at all? Try booting with only 1 stick of RAM and see if that helps at all. Also, remove the motherboard battery for 30 secs and put back in to clear the CMOS, then reboot.

Yh i will just spoke to him over the phone. so ill take my spare psu and test it.

Alright. i just want to rule out everything before suggesting it's a hardware problem. What is the PSU and how long has he had it for?
