HI, im looking for a motherboard that wont need a bios update. I do not want to pay the dreaded price for a X-470 motherboard unless i must. Could somebody link me to a B350 motherboard that is ready for raven ridge and will not require a bios update?

(Im getting the ryzen 3 2200G in case you were wondering.)

theres no way to be sure about it unless the product page specifies its been updated, otherwise im pretty sure AMD still does boot kits for their APUs so dont worry you can still send for one of those and buy any board you like

that's the idea! you can also buy locally and have them tested! the old b350s are flying out fast so its hard to find one with old bios anyways! worst case scenario return it or get AMD bootkit! x470 worth it though~

In all honesty though if you are building a 2200g system you gotta put more thought into it more than a cheap mobo... Are you building a budget PC or an upgradable one? you have to think about BIOs and ram compatibility some manufacturers suck at AM4 chipset development and support... not everything you see on youtube will apply to you...

the current position im in is i need a new cpu and gpu and im on a 200 dollar budget

im gonna try and find a mobo thats good for overclocking. i plan to get my 2200g to atleast 3.8 to 4.0 ghz and for the on board gpu to around 1.6 ghz

o.O you are gonna need good cooling for that and serious silicon LUCK! I can only get my iGPU to 1.33 stable and that with stock cooling! I plan on getting a different GPU and 3800x in the future so thats fine however if you plan on maxing the potential for your CPU you need to think about the requirements for doing so.

if you live near a micro center you can get the processor cheaper PLUS if you are willing to purchase the mobo from them they can ensure that they are compatible!

i dont feel like buying another cpu to update it. and i hate dealing with boot kits

You literally have to contact AMD, provide a proof of purchase, and then wait a few days for your boot kit to arrive. After updating your BIOS you send the boot kit back to AMD and then you're done. It really isn't that hard, and is leagues ahead of what Intel has done in the past (nothing, so to speak).
