4K Monitor, GPU?

Hello, i have a question for you guys and ladies..

My father (he keeps giving me gifts that later on make me cry cause i have to spend more and more to be able to reach what he bought me (read on and ull understand what i mean)..

Poor me, has an R9 380X gaming 4G GPU (yeah it sux, shut up )
Last Black Friday my Father bought me a Samsung 3840x2160@60Hz (dont recall the model) Monitor..

 

So question is, will my GPU NOT screw my gaming life like A LOT?? i know it will screw it up, but how much?

Also since my PC is basically dead (another post on troubleshooting about this), and i will be fixing a new one shortly™ (several months to collect around 1200 EUR needed for the new one), any GPU under budget reccomendations? thnx for your time!!

The only GPUs capable of driving frames for 4k is 1080ti, Titan Xp or Titan V. Beyond that, if you want to keep using the 380x, you can downscale the games from 4k to a more manageable 1440p or 1080p.

thats what im doing now, but it seems (to my eyes at least) that the screen works worse than my old 22" wide LG monitor .. might be in my mind only?

It will be less sharp and stuff for sure since its not its native resolution.

That's not true, as long as you're willing to lower the settings a little bit a 1080 or even a 1070 (or either of the Vega cards) is enough. My r9 fury runs doom 2016 at 4k with pretty high settings, a 1080 would have no problems even with newer titles than that.

I also recommend buying used, if the card hasn't been abused (you can generally tell) they're pretty much as good as new. If you want to know how scaling affects your image quality, I have a link in my signature to a thread I made that explains it.

The best is gtx 1080ti you may buy tata xp but it's not worth it like extra 10fps for Extra 200 euro is not worth it. The 1080 ti is the best buy for 4k at 60hz.
