Num Lock state stuck unless Shift key pressed

I've run into an issue where my Num Lock key does not function unless the Shift key is pressed.  I can fix it by restarting my computer, but having to do that just so I can auto run in a video game is a bit frustrating.

Has anybody encountered this problem before?

I recently had to install the new Windows 10 update, other than that nothing in my system has changed.

I use a Das Keyboard connected with the PS/2 adapter.

Your keyboard should be inserted on usb port 2.0 not 3.0 because it will not detect or would not work. Most keyboards are 2.0 and only few supported 3.0 while formatting .
