GIGABYTE GA-B150M-D3H GSM

You might can get a use i3 7300k for that but I would recommend saving up for an i5 7600k or i7 8700k if you want to video edit, what video card are you using? Also what software are you using for editing?

Ok, that makes all the difference, but CPUs for that board at that price range are few and far between and to top all that, they are also wimpy aim for at least a 7300.

Then again try the 6300, because you going to need a BIOS update, and if you don't already have a chip for that board, that update is going to cost you since you will nee an entire throw away CPU just to get it running.

Yeah, I figured that a 75 USD processor is not that worth it for me so if I add the current budget to about 125 or 150 USD, what should i get?

Okay, thanks or the help I really appreciate it :)

Not a problem, I too am upgrading. Never thought I would take out a loan for a computer lol but I'm in school now going for a BS in computer science in graphic design so I want something that will last and be proficient in design as my current rig is crashing like crazy. I went with the ryzen threadripper 1950x and a gtx 1080ti

Yeah find the upgrades you want then save up for them don't let a budget bottleneck your upgrade cause you won't be happy or satisfied. Think of it as an investment. Don't forget to update us on what you get ?

Not yet, why?

Because a B250 would probably be a better option, and then you could grab 7300 or 7400.
