They gave me the money and I used it to build myself a new desktop (which I sold a few months later as I decided I prefer laptops).

Should've gone with a replacement rather than the money, but can't undo that.

why did they give you the money though? wasnt it a linus? wouldn't it be counted as user damage and not be covered under warranty

Insurance is my insurer, not the manufacturer.

The laptop was covered under my accidental damage cover that's included with my rent.

ohhh ok. i would recommend the zephyrus or the msi gs65. idk about the aero, heard the build quality is worse than the other two. what are you planning to get?
