What do you mean "bad IP"? Are you trying to get your Public IP? if so, go to this site: https://whatismyipaddress.com

What do you consider the "correct" ip to be? Ipconfig correctly reports your computer's local network ip. If you want to know your external ip, try this:

 nslookup myip.opendns.com. resolver1.opendns.com

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

That would be your Public IP address from your internet provider. The one in the image is you the IP you need. 192.168.8.100 is your PCs IP and 192.168.8.1 is your router's IP.

You can't control your external ip, your ISP is responsible for giving you one. If you want to be able to reliably connect to your ip you should setup a domain.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

you need your public IP for this. Also your internal router will have to forward some specific ports to the machine hosting the game server. Should be explained in the game servers documentation somewhere.

Also try that games forum for tips and tricks about setting it up correctly since it can be a bothersome crap load to deal with.

and on top of all that: read up on how IP / ports work. That knowledge will stay relevant for the rest of your digital life :-)

Port forward your external IP address on the router to the internal address of your PC.

192.168.x.x is internal address space and then 192.168.8.100 is your internal IP address, the 86.38.7.235 is your public address. Your friends MUST connect to the external address while you connect to the internal address of the PC. Port forwarding will take care of getting them from the external address to the internal address.
