DC fan controller hub

Hi,

 

 I am in the process of building my first PC, and I believe I need to connect 7 fans to the motherboard, but the motherboard (MSI Z270 SLI PLUS) has only 4 fan headers that support DC fan control. Therefore I was wondering if there is a fan controller out there, similar to SilverStone PWM fan controller hub, that would allow me to connect several fans to one fan header on the motherboard while still allowing me to control their speed for noise.

You can connect 2-4 fans per header with just Y- or 3-way splitters. For more fans on single header you would need external power connector. Problem with most of those and DC fans is that they will make fans run full speed all the time. There are some hubs which convert PWM signal to DC. But mostly you should look at getting hardware based controller like NZXT Grid+.

The pwm hub you linked doesn't support dc control but Phanteks has one that does: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811984004
