Sata Power

lookpuppy

So I bought the evga 450 bt (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-BT-0450-K1) and do not see sata power on it. Do I need a molex to sata power connector? Or am I just stupid and all I need is sata. Sorry guys, I’m a scrub. The hdd I have also seems to have a 4 pin slot, and I have no clue what that is.

another question is, is the larger looking sata connector the sata power orrrrrr?

I hAve an unfinished pc build. Pls dont bully for not having one yet or i cry.

A 4pin slot is molex power, which that PSU has. It also has regular SATA power cables.

It says right there on the website. It comes with 2 SATA chains, each with 2 connectors, 45cm and 57cm from the PSU.

Why did you get the BT? The CX/CXM usually costs about the same.

The 4 tiny pins on the HDD aren't needed, you don't need to plug them in.

It’s like super small though and I have no clue what part is needed. It’s definitely not molex is my point. It’s a lot smaller than molex.

Probably jumpers then. Those are for old-school configuration purposes. Not necessary in 99.9% of cases these days.
