I just received a Gables G7404-121 radio selector that came off of a retired Boeing 757 from a retired United Airlines pilot.  I have a lot of questions right now.  I have also attached a picture of the selector.

I contacted Gables about the missing HF SENS knob (pretty sure that's gonna cost me $100+), and they said they'll give me a quote on Monday for the knob.  My whole goal is to kinda restore the COMM selector, and maybe get it to power up.

Here are my main questions:

  1. Where can I find a 6 digit LED that has 5x2 pins?
  2. Are there any cheaper alternatives to finding a fitting knob for the HF SENS? (I tried Shapeways)
  3. How on Earth do I get the COMM selector to even light up?
  4. Can I attach it to my computer for FSX usage?

Any ideas?

  1. You should be able to get a component part number off the existing LED panels. Do a search for it and something should turn up.
  2. A pair of locking pliers will let you turn the HF SENS barrel.
  3. Presumably providing the appropriate power inputs will allow the unit to light up.
  4. No idea.
