Laptop extremely slow

My laptop is really slow and can't do anything on it programs crash all the time and also I don't wanna reset it just mass clean it up and improve performance

If you know what you wanna do, was there even a point of making this thread? 

I'm confused what you actually need help with here though, but if it doesn't have an SSD, switching to one will speed it up quite a bit.

Knowing the laptop will also help.

You haven't really given us any information that would help us. Sometimes speeding up a laptop can just be accomplished by a windows re-install, or sometimes it's different. Depending on how old the laptop is, etc.

You're not going to make a 10 year old laptop faster.

You'd be wasting money if you did put an SSD into that so ignore that suggestion.

Even though there really is too little we can do for a 10 years old laptop which probably has far too outdated hardware already the SSD idea is the very only thing that still makes somewhat sense since it will help and the SSD can be re-used on a new machine either ways...

He could possible make it faster by re-installing the OS, and maybe cleaning out some programs he doesn't use.

It's a hotel elitebook model 8540w Intel core i7 windows 7 Nvidia quadro cuda it was bought for my birthday by my parents
