Improving PC Audio w/ DAC?

I'm going to try and keep this as simple as possible. A few years ago I invested in some V-MODA M100s which I use for pretty much everything, I currently have them hooked up via Optical to a SMSL SD793-II which was recommended to me on these forums. Unfortunately, in moving furniture It has been damaged so I thought now would be the best time to consider an upgrade, If there's a fairly priced one available. I'm looking to spend around the £100 mark, I wouldn't mind going over but the purchase may have to wait a while.

need to have the optical connection, that is my only requirement.

What are you looking for, a pure amp (like the Magni 3) or a DAC combo type (like your SD793-II)? Also, one question I'd like to ask of you is this: Is a separate DAC stack/combo or amp really necessary? I had the M100 and it can be easily driven by even a handphone (I was using an LG handphone - NOT Quad DAC model - and my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium.

Schiit Stack is a popular one.  I bought the Topping A30/D30 stack off mass drop for the same price range.  Similar performance as well.  The cool thing with the Toppin is that the Op Amp is easily replaceable to give you a different sound.  I have a pair of Burson V5is in the mail to give the amp a little better quality.

Otherwise, you can get another S.M.S.L?
