So i ordered the g-max gelid extreme or something from ebay, just to try it out. Before that i was using Nocta h1 thermal compound or something, cant remember the name.

Anyways, before i did anything, i never got temps above 69C.

The I applied gmax gelid extreme tmp, and my temps went to 76C just from booting into windows.

Then i though, im gonna try and apply it again, to see if i was doing something wrong.

But still, my temps were around 74C on bootup.

Then lastly, i went back to Noctuas nh1 tmp, and temps were same on bootup. This is strange cuz with my old tmp application my temps, as I said newer went over 69 while gaming and booting up the computer.

I tryed the grain of cooked rice and i also tryed spreading the tmp.

Any suggestions guys on how to get temps back to 69c ? :D

So just by booting up your cpu reaches those temps? That doesn’t sound right. Judging by your signature you have a Kraken cooler?

Make sure that the pump is running as you shouldn’t see temps that high when booting.

Well, if you are familiar with the kraken cpu coolers, you cant controle the pump speeds without cam software, and the software is a bit slow on start-up. So there is no way for me to know when the pump kicks in at full speed. But as i said with the old application with the noctua, my temps never went over 69c while gaming.

And now with my new application of the noctua n1 tmp, my temps are as high as 72c while gaming. So i really dont know what to do

Ah ok, if your temps are fine during gaming the pump should be working correctly :P

As for you generally higher temps, it could just be that your ambient temperature has increased since you last testet your temperatures.

If its 5 degrees warmer in your room you will generally have 5 degrees hotter components.

Nah man, we have this AC thing in the apartment, temps never go higher than 22.5C. + My radiaor in my room is always at setting 3. So temps shouldnt have effected this.

Hmm then I don’t know.

Either you paste application skills have gotten worse by a lot or it’s something else that I can’t think of right now.

Ninja Edit:

it could also be just the margin of error, we’re talking about a few degrees here, as long as your temps are under control I wouldn’t worry

Your application is really fresh still so it should be no problem to just wipe it off with a paper towel

so I just applied new layer of the gelid tmp, boot temp was max at 70, looking better so far. Gonna test a few games now.

So after a few games of pubg, max temp was 71C, and the lowest temp was 63C. So im just gonna assume it was a bad application, although i cant explain the high boot temps....

Yeah those are kind of strange, are you rebooting right away?

Because if you game/benchmark and then restart instantly your coolant in the cooler won’t have enough time to cool down.

Nono, i let the pc cool down as im changing thermal paste. And last update. Ive been played some games through out the day. My max temp with gelid tmp is 74, all cores are 3C hotter with gelid than with noctua.... Dont recommend. Im gonna change one last time to noctua and probably call it a day...
