Hello, I have a CoolerMaster H500P case and a EVGA PSU

I also bought Phanteks extension cable kit

the problem is: The motherboard 4+4 pin cable from the kit is too short. It's only 500mm and it can't reach from the PSU to the top of the mobo

My questions is, are the extension cables usually/meant to be used as extension cable?

For example, I connect the stock / black mobo cable first to the PSU, THEN connect the extension cable to the stock cable & the mobo

Because otherwise I dont see any issue only using the extension cable (Given the user uses fully modular PSU) on easier to reach 16 pin connector & GPU connectors and it will cause less headache for cable management

Will I be doing it wrong (and waste too much space) if I use the extension cables as extension in my ATX case?

thanks, im slightly annoyed because i accidentally bought a semi modular PSU where the 16 pin cable is attached to the PSU

16 pin cable? With semi modular PSUs, it's usually the 20+4 pin ATX and 4+4 pin EPS connector that's attached. Sometimes one PCIe chain as well.

my bad, i meant 24 pin.

The PSU i have only has the 24 pin one attached and im not sure if i should get a fully modular one instead and RMA the current one
