Running Visual Studio + .NET on Mac

Hi There,

 

I predominately work with front end programming technologies (React/Js/Webpack etc.) However need to run a .NET API and actively develop on it as well. I currently run parallels with Windows 10 in order to do the .NET work, however it's very cumbersome and slow. I'm pretty married to the Mac operating system for my main vocation.

 

Anyone have the same requirements and have found a good solution for developing on both platforms?

Unfortunately, if you don't want to bootcamp and have a native Windows install, virtualisation is your only option. 

 

However, it might be worth trying some of the alternatives - you may find that some of them work better for your specific use case than others. Give Vmware a go first, then try Virtualbox. 

 

There will always be *some* performance penalty, though.
