Stop Bittorrent from uploading

So the government has decided to go hunting for anyone using the torrent protocol. I know I'd be a leacher (shame on me), but is there a way to stop Bittorrent from uploading/seading? Some of you might say that I could use a VPN, but that would mean that I must always be connected to it, and I don't want to pay for any unlimited VPN...

You just change the upload setting of the bit torrent client.

 

You should ALWAYS be behind a VPN if you're doing ANYTHING with torrents, no exceptions. It's kinda stupid otherwise.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

Almost every torrent client has option for upload/see ratio or even not seeding at all when your download is finished, and this was since maybe 2003 or so.

Just look into the options.

 

How much the differences between unlimited and limited VPN if you are paying it btw?

IDK man, I have games that update over the torrent protocol.

 

And most torrent "busts" come from honeypot seeds.  Many VPN providers will disclose info if presented with a valid warrant for criminal activity as well, considering that they can be charged with aiding and abetting if they do not.

No torrents can be used for anything not just pirated content so you should say only use a VPN while pirating but then you are stupid if you are still pirating like that

Sure you can don't follow my advice but if you are using utorrent then it's necessary to have a good vpn/proxy to hire your location. I always use proxy to hide my IP address and have no problem with downloading speed. It's a good way to stay anonymous on the Web.

When your torrent starts to seed, you get a notification that your download is complete, and then you can right click and click remove to remove the torrent, and therefore stop seeding. If you don't stop seeding, depending on the torrent size, the seeding will continue until it will be finished and the 'Seeding' will be replaced with 'Finished', but that is not important.

Also, there is an option to limit the download and upload speed of your torrent, that is in the 'bandwidth allocation' drop down menu, and if you want to keep it simple, instead of choosing the specific down/upload speed, click on either of the options in the drop down, that will be 'Low', 'Medium' or 'High'.

This. But I think it is better to hide behind a VPN. I use NordVPN, it's unlimited and pretty cheap if you find a good deal. It also doesn't allow to seed which could be seen as a minus, but in this situation maybe a positive.

As mentioned, No seeding - No problem, use VPN easily.
