PUBG GPU Usage randomly drops to 20% or less, causing FPS Drops

Chikuakkuak

As the title says, I get huge stuttering when playing PUBG.

This only happens after about 5mins ingame, before everthing is running smooth.

My Specs:

GTX 1060 (Notebooks) - 6GB VRAM

Intel i7-7700HQ

16GB Ram

Also im running the game on a SSD.

Please note: Im playing on the Acer Predator Helios 300, a laptop.

I already tried many things, and just yesterday I reset my Laptop. My only theory left is maybe my laptop is getting too hot, in MSI Afterburner I saw temperatures up to 84 degrees while gaming, but since this a laptop and I get these temperatures when it's not stuttering too, I doubt that.

Would be really grateful if anyone can help.

what about your CPU temps? 84c on the GPU is fine in a laptop.

Laptops usually have this issue with temperature so it make sure, get a cooling pad of some sort.

You can also go to the NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3D Settings > Select PUBG from the list (or add it) > find the option that states something along the lines of, "Power Settings" > change it to "Prefer Maximum Performance"

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

Don't worry about it. Since its pubg, you can expect the game to be frame dropping all the time due to poor optimization.
