Home Server Setup

I want to set up a home FTP file server for my files on my computer and my external hard drive, but I don't know how to set one up. Is there any way that I can set this up in windows? Or do I need to buy a system to hold my media?

Just use a cloud based system like dropbox , google drive, etc.

FTP is pretty old and fairly dangerous to use now. It's also non-encrypted so.. It can be done but it's a lot of work so honestly just avoid it. Nextcloud is a good solution if you want to self host.
