How do I cool this

I get the 90D overheat message after every overheat crash and yes all the fans are blocked by my legs because they are on the bottom and badly placed

In that case get a cooling pad or something else to keep the air intakes free.Having the intakes blocked by your legs is a bad idea

I have a HP ENVY m6-1310sa Notebook PC

HP Link

And find that it often overheats due to it's massive, ultra powerful CPU:

The beastly AMD A10-5750M,

I was wondering how I could stop it from overheating every 20 minutes and burning my hands and legs,

I thought of a laptop cooling pad on amazon but am unsure if this is the best way,

Thanks for all/any help!

Take it apart, replace thermal compound, and blow out dust.

I tried that and it still overheats and now makes a loud whirring noise that it did not before

Your CPU should not be getting very hot, it's only a 35W chip. I think the problem lies with your laptop's cooling design overall.

The cooling pads have mixed reviews, but I don't see how they could be worse than stock.

As suggested, take apart, clean, upgrade thermal paste to something with a good reputation and reassemble.

Also, in windows, go into power management and lower your MAXIMUM PROCESSOR STATE to 99%.  This will limit the amount of heat generated a lot while reducing performance VERY slightly.  At least on Intel CPUs...

Set the laptop on a table and elevate it so the fans have room to breath.

I have also done this but the flat keyboard in this position is very uncomfortable for the high level gaming that I do

You can get a USB keyboard and use that. I've personally found using an external keyboard on my laptop for gaming is better than the internal keyboard.

It looks like you need to make a choice. Either let the laptop die a slow heat-death or buy a separate keyboard

It has a circular, lilac connection that doesnt fit my laptop

:/

That's a ps/2 connector. You can get cheap ps/2 to usb adapters everywhere or you can simply buy a cheap usb keyboard.

Either way is cheaper than buying a new laptop or having hand surgery

get a compressor and blow out the fan properly

also when u use a laptop on ur lap, any laptop will overheat if it needs any sort of cooling as u cover up the breathing pockets

when putting a laptop on ur lap u should have atleast a fan under it or a plank ;v
