Hey guys I picked up a ssd about a month ago and I was finally able to get the windows discs to reinstall my copy of windows and I was wondering would it be possible for me to install windows onto the ssd and activate it and then format my old hard drive?  I wanted to that to make sure everything went correctly before I lost my working install.

Open CMD with admin rights and type slmgr.vbs -upk

That will de-activate windows and allow you to use the key to activate it again on a clean install on your new SSD.
