Dear LinusTechTips forum,

I recently bought an Intel Core i5 8600K with a Z370-A PRO motherboard.

I overclocked the CPU to 5GHz with a core voltage of 1.352V and the maximum temperature is 70c with my fans on 65%.

Do you guys think I can overclock my CPU any further? If it is possible to overclock my CPU further can you guys then also give me any tips.

Greetings,

Etrecz

By the way, I forgot to mention that I use a Corsair H80i v2 watercooler.

That was overly formal for an internet forum...

Anyways I'd take what you have and run. Anything more and you'll need to make it louder and crank up voltages to about 1.4V for what, 2% more performance? Not worth it in my books.

Main System: EVGA GTX 1080 SC, i7 8700, 16GB DDR4 Corsair LPX 3000mhz CL15, Asus Z370 Prime A, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R5, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 500gb Samsung 850 Evo
Secondary System: EVGA GTX 780ti SC, i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 1600mhz, MSI Z77 G43, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R4, 3TB WD Caviar Blue, 250gb Samsung 850 Evo

Thanks for your reply. I think I will stick with the overclock that I have right now. The 2% performance increase is not worth the heat and noise.
