hi,

i recently build my pc and im having some issues with my GPU and CPU when playing games (only on high graphics demanding games) the usage goes up and down nonstop.
like for example on watch dogs 2: screenshot --> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qvne5jhm8dagoeu/AAAd6TrNQ8djW2WAMK9ybQWHa?dl=0

or when i play kingdome come it doesn't go higher then 60%

this causes extreme lag spikes, which makes the game unplayable!
my sepcs:

CPU: AMD ryzen 5 1600
MOBO: Asus rog strix b350-F gaming
RAM: 8GB g.skill ripjaws V DDR4
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce
PSU: Antec basiq 500 Watt

i think it's my PSU, my GPU need 500 watt min so i only have the minimum.
The PSU is a older model but still new out of the box.

My question is, what is the cause of this problem?
im only going to buy a new PSU, if im certain that the PSU is causing the problem.

Thanks!

the first watchdogs was notorious for poor performance. I have not play int but heard in numerous times. Is Watchdogs 2 even any better?

Your individual cores (CPU) might be pinned to max usage even though overall usage is fluctuating. Look at individual threads, not overall usage, also what about MSI afterburner to have a view which shows these graphs side by side and lets you track spikes across multiple graphs at the same point int time very easily.

Your PC would be unstable or should crash or OC badly if your PSU was the issue afaik.

EDIT: You are running at only 3.3GHz on the CPU. What are your temps? What are your VRM temps?

even tho watch dogs is notorious for poor performance, i don't thing it would make my CPU and GPU run like that.

i've actually found the problem 9_9 im using an old HDD from an other pc and it was bottlenecking the game for some reason. i've moved the game to an other hard drive and everything works fine
