So like, wat do?

 

This is something that started happening in the last month or so. I have an i7-6800k overclocked to 4.0ghz. I have 32gb of memory, and honestly not sure if it's the memory or my system in general but I don't think my memory has ever run as it should, any time I've ever ran the memory at its advertised 3000mhz it always had blue screen issues, me not sure if it's due to bad memory or just the way Broadwell-e cpus are, someone telling me it could be that.

 

Over a month ago I've looked up guides on how to properly overclock broadwell-e cpus, something that whenever I tried doing before it never turned out right. With the guides I was able to get my cpu up to 4.0ghz and even oc my cache a bit as well, that being something that if I so much as touched before I'd get blue screens. Things on the cpu side are stable, and the temps are great, so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't there.

 

At some point I ran into this blue screen, I looked it up and saw it was related to memory issues. Something said it could be related to an overclock. When I did my overclocking before I didn't set my memory at its full speed, I set it at 2800mhz. So when I got this issue I lowered it down to 2666. Things were working fine, no issues for a couple weeks until the other day, and again just now. After it happened just a bit ago I just decided fuck it, and removed the overclock for my memory, turning off the XMP profile and running it at the stock 2133mhz.

 

Any clues on what my issue is? Is it a memory problem or is it just overclocking on broadwell-e being a douchebag?

Not sure if it is related to my overclock or not, that just being what someone mentioned it could be. I have run the whole microsoft memory diagnostic and it came back saying I was good. One method I've seen people mention is disabling memory caching but not sure if I want to try that or not

Revert to stock settings and see if you can recreate the error. Also run Memtest86

Stop OCing until you determine the root cause of the issue (which is probably your OCing...)

And yeah, run MemTestx86 *overnight*, it'll tell you if your ram is good or not.

Whatever XMP sets it to. I removed the ram OC.
