Hi guys! Will this be good enough for an entry level workstation? No gaming, just purely workstation stuff like web development, programming, video editing, etc. And if i'm going to do some 3D work such as in Blender, i would need to change the GPU with a higher VRAM right? Thank you very much for the help.

Get the 2600X instead. It comes with a cooler and performs better. Ask your retailer to flash the BIOS for you if you're going to use a B350 board.

You're probably fine with just an R5 2400G and no dedicated GPU

What's your budget/country?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

@Some Random Member @NelizMastr So I guess it's better if I use Ryzen 2nd gen since it's relatively new as well.

@Streetguru I was also considering 2400g, and since i'm not going for gaming, I won't need a good card i guess.  I just want at least a fast machine where I can work efficiently and will satisfy my needs. My budget is around 1,500 to 1,800 USD.

Thank you very much.

Then probably just buy an R7 2700X and call it a day

Dunno what your other storage needs are, could probably find a better NVME Drive, I think WD just talked about or released updated ones, that one isn't too much better than sata SSDs in some categories.

@Streetguru's build is a nice option. Just for lulz, I decided to go a bit overkill on my build to max out your budget.

Always need a TR4 cooler for threadripper, likely the enermax AIO

And you probably always want the 1950X man

I don't think that PSU comes with 2 CPU 8 pins either

1950X is out of budget unless OP wants no storage (and PCpartpicker lists all this stuff as compatible :P ) hah. It's just a fun thing to do, nothing to take seriously as the 80% price difference is bigger than the performance delta.
