So we've got a HP printer at a clients place that used to print just fine with no issues. The router was recently reset and ever since, 2 of the printers (the same model) have been playing up. Printing will work with no issues for some time and randomly the computers won't be able to reach the printer, the printer is still connected and has an IP address, but no machines can see them. A restart always fixes it, however it's happening anywhere from twice every couple of hours to 5 times in 15 minutes. I read that changing the sleep time on the printer sometimes solved this however there is no option to disable sleep altogether and changing it to the max amount of time, 10 minutes I believe, hasn't made any difference either.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is the printer connected to the network through ethernet or via wireless (not recommended at all for production)? Does it have a static IP or DHCP?

It's wireless at the moment. I'm not sure what the reasoning was though as it was setup before I started, I'd guess they don't have an ethernet port as they aren't business pritners or anything like that, just regular wireless consumer ones.

Right. The wireless might be the issue here as I've had countless problems with wireless printers before. The connection just isn't very reliable and they switch IP addresses rather quickly without you knowing. Try to set a static IP in the very least and see if that makes it a bit more reliable.

Sorry forgot to say on the other post, I believe they both have a static address already as that was one of the first things we thought of. I find it really weird that they were working fine for ages and a router reset has caused them to constantly drop connection, despite still being connected.
